Putnam Farm and Lower Cape Outreach Council (LCOC) of Orleans, MA are working together to transform local harvests into healthy food for families across the Lower Cape. Through this powerful partnership, Putnam Farm’s growers provide fresh, locally and organically grown produce, while LCOC delivers it to neighbors through its nine local food pantries.
How It Works:
Donations to the Putnam Pantry Project enable produce to be purchased from Putnam farmers and then distributed through regional food pantries. This simple, effective model invests in local agriculture, creates a dependable source of fresh food, and expands access to nutritious choices for Lower Cape families.
LCOC serves as the charitable partner for the Putnam Pantry Project, making gifts tax-deductible and ensuring that donor support becomes fresh food for the community. Every contribution strengthens the partnership: it helps local farmers grow and sell more produce while helping LCOC provide healthy food to neighbors in Orleans and throughout the Lower Cape.
The Project’s Roots:
The partnership took root in 2025 with leadership from Seaside Cannabis Company and an inaugural gift of $2,000. Building on that early momentum, Seaside expanded its commitment in 2026 and was joined by two regional cannabis partners—Middleboro-based Suncrafted and Wareham-based COAST—helping Putnam Farm and LCOC extend the project’s reach and impact.
