Putnam Pantry Project

Lower Cape Outreach Council (LCOC) is partnering with Putnam Farm to provide locally grown produce to LCOC’s nine local food pantries.

The Putnam Pantry Project, a collaborative effort connecting local farmers, donors, and community organizations, has entered a new partnership with the Lower Cape Outreach Council (LCOC) to expand access to fresh, locally grown food for families in need across the Lower Cape. Putnam Farm provides rented plots to local growers on land owned by the Town of Orleans.

The Putnam Pantry Project began in 2025 with a $2,000 inaugural donation from the Seaside Cannabis Company, which paid Putnam farmers for their organically grown produce. That product was then donated to regional food pantries, demonstrating a simple but powerful model for supporting local agriculture while addressing food insecurity.

The Putnam Pantry Project will expand in 2026, in part by accepting tax-deductible donations through LCOC, allowing private donors to directly support farmers and food access in Orleans.
